How I Deal With The Possibility Of Germs And Illness

I still have many of the precautions in place that I started using during the covid 19 pandemic. Many of my clients are vulnerable, so I take my responsibility to protect them seriously.

I run a high-end air filter in my massage room. It has 9 layers of filtration, including an electrostatic filter that zaps germs. It has been proven to clear the air of viral particles down to .03 microns. It will clear 1500 square feet of all particles .3 microns or greater in 10 minutes. My house is 1,000 square feet (not counting the basement), and the massage room itself is less than 250 square feet.

I am still wearing a mask while I work on clients. I believe even a cloth mask will help protect my clients because it will catch larger droplets that could contain lots of viral particles. For most of us, our immune systems can easily clear a few viral particles, but larger droplets can contain many thousands of particles, so they have the greatest risk of overwhelming someone's immune defenses.

I'm still wiping down high-contact surfaces between clients, so the doorknobs, faucet handles, face rest, and the like all get wiped down with a (mild) disinfectant.

I rinse my mouth and the back of my throat with a disinfectant gargle after seeing clients. A doctor taught me that for years, he and his whole staff have gargled with diluted hydrogen peroxide at the end of every work day throughout cold and flu season, and they never catch the colds and flus their patients have. The back of the throat is where germs first congregate and multiply to try to overwhelm our immune systems, so it makes sense that if we gargle with something that can clear germs out before they have a chance to multiply, we'll stay healthy.

Plus I always pray for the health and safety of my clients :)
